Night in Shoreditch (Flat Iron Steak Project)

Friday 17th August:  Okay so I’m a little late in informing people about this place as it’s now finished, however, it will be reappearing soon.  So, better late than never right?!

Flat Iron Steak and Cocktail Project was based in Shoreditch, above The Owl and Pussycat pub for about two months.  I heard about it through a friend, which is one of the best kind of recommendations you can get in business.

Luckily for my empty stomach we went on one of those really sunny days where everyone was still outside making the most of it, so we only waited for about 30 minutes (normally it was about an hour apparently).

The food menu list would fit onto a business card, which was actually a good thing.  You know what you’re going in for…steak.  So you just have to order your side and cocktail, if you want one.

The steak was cooked to perfection, it could probably give The Hawksmoor a run for its money and the best bit is that it cost about an fifth of the price (steak, salad, side and drink for £15).

The pub downstairs is pretty nice too, it had a refurb recently.  I last went there when it was still a slightly grotty man pub and I think I preferred it that way, but it’s still worth a visit.

If you like a good, honest and tasty steak for cheap, then make sure you follow Flat Iron on Facebook to find out when their next project is open.

About Hayles

Living in and loving London, I like to cram in as much as possible. I have a lot of different hobbies which I start on a whim and most of the time abandon for something else! My current interests include film, TV, music, comedy, art, photography, theatre and finding new yummy food establishments. Mostly I just love to experience the many joys and wonders that London offers. I started this blog to help me remember what I've actually done at the end of each year, but now I actually really enjoy writing and sharing what I hope is funny and/or useful information.
