Night in Covent Garden (Jamie’s Italian)

Thursday 17th February: Started at Henrys Bar for cocktails, the bartender actually lived up to the title as he managed to make great cocktails with some pizzazz whilst taking other orders simultaneously.  Who said men can’t multi-task?!

Then we went for dinner at Jamies Italian which opened at the end of last year.  It felt like Jamie definitely had input in the restaurant design, just like the man himself (supposedly) it was unpretentious, rustic and genuine.  The food was great as expected, apart from my starter of Crispy Squid which was quite chewy but the Angus Sirloin Steak was really good, this was followed by a rich Chocolate and Espresso Tart with Sticky Glazed Figs and Orange Creme Fraiche and finally an actual Espresso.  I probably didn’t need that Pro Plus before we went out…

Needless to say I didn’t sleep too well after all of that but it was worth it!

About Hayles

Living in and loving London, I like to cram in as much as possible. I have a lot of different hobbies which I start on a whim and most of the time abandon for something else! My current interests include film, TV, music, comedy, art, photography, theatre and finding new yummy food establishments. Mostly I just love to experience the many joys and wonders that London offers. I started this blog to help me remember what I've actually done at the end of each year, but now I actually really enjoy writing and sharing what I hope is funny and/or useful information.
